Trieg Penki

Long Story Short:

Mexa Penki, alien mad scientist and career criminal, took an interest in Earth animals, she created a hybrid of human and triceratops DNA and raised it as a slave. In spite of herself she treated the experiment like a son, and Trieg Penki became an intelligent and powerful asset for her shady dealings. However, when Trieg made the mistake of holding a conversation with a human abductee he was meant to probe, he had a change of heart and betrayed his 'mother' to the Earth heroes. He now lives with his aunt in a space house orbiting Earth and fights crime with his human friends.

Powers:

Trieg is a hybrid of human and triceratops, with the strength of the latter at the former's size. His skin is very thick and durable, as are his bones. He has two large horns extending from his forehead and a smaller one from his nose, which are dangerous weapons in battle. He usually fights with his fists, but has no qualms about ramming his head into things. He is also extremely intelligent, specializing in biogenetics and nanotechnology. He often acts as the team doctor. In order to blend in amongst humans he also has control over a preset spell that allows him to become human when he concentrates. This spell was placed by his kindly aunt, and is tied to his DNA. His human form appears as an approximation of what he'd actually look like, if born human.

Weaknesses:

Despite years of abuse, Trieg is emotionally dependant on his mother, and if pressured enough he would probably do whatever she says. Only the counter-opinions of his friends keep him on the right path. He is also very insecure about his body image, obviously because his is a genetically engineered monster that nature never intended. His mismatched physiology leads to digestive problems, he is unable to eat meat and has a very slow metabolism. He had a slight weight problem when he was younger, adding to his self-esteem issues. He is socially awkward, having lived in isolation most of his life, and his first solution to problems in the real world is violence. He has slight trouble understanding music and art. He will sometimes mistake a life-size photo for the real thing, especially when dealing with buildings in perspective. He is also tone-deaf.

Relationships: For fifteen years, Trieg's only interaction was with his creator, Mexa Penki, a temperamental woman who treated him poorly, although some parental love may be buried in her heart somewhere. He usually listens to whatever she says. The only one who has ever been able to convince him to go against his mother's orders was Clarisse MacLeod, on whom he has developed a large crush. After being taken from his mother's custody he came to live with his aunt, Tixa Penki, who is a much nicer person. Their relationship is much closer to what a family should be like. However, before he was put in her custody Tixa didn't even know he existed, and doesn't always know what to do with him. The Red Jacket Brigade have accepted Trieg as one of them, although during their first encounter they were on opposing sides. Anthony, who also has affections for Clarisse, doesn't fully trust Trieg but gives him the benefit of a doubt because his friends do.
