Taylor Denton is the close friend of Clarisse MacLeod, who quickly dragged him into a world of alien magicians after she became involved with Tony Cook, the superhero Laserwing. When Earth was threatened by a powerful force and Laserwing was out of commission, Taylor was enlisted and transformed into the hero Knightcat.
Taylor's powers come from a magical fusion performed between his physical body and that of a summon called a Suncat. Suncats are sustained entirely by magic from their summoners, and have no need to eat, sleep, or breathe. Taylor continues to breathe as a reflex, and eats and sleeps for the enjoyment of it. However, no body functions are truly necessary as long as he gets magic power from his summoner, Mistaire. He can survive as long as she does and could regenerate lost body parts when given enough energy to work with.
Taylor's fire magic is very strong, and anything he eats gets converted to more fire. He is also a competent physical fighter with heightened reflexes and sharp claws. Before gaining his powers he was a high school cheerleader, and is very agile and flexible. He has strong earing, smell, and night vision (his eyes glow in the dark).
Although his offensive power is strong, Taylor devotes his magic to healing. With proper education he could put his immense magical aptitude towards healing extreme injuries on the battlefield.
Weaknesses:Because his body doesn't sustain itself, Taylor relies on Mistaire to remain alive. If they were separated over too great a distance, or if Mistaire were to die, he would die as well. He is also not particularly bright and slightly dyslexic.
History:Taylor lived a mostly normal life up until his junior year in high school, when his best friend Clarisse bore witness to the creation of Laserwing, a new superhero. Taylor and Clarisse tell each other pretty much everything, including stories about crimefighting space magicians. From then on the two tried to become involved in the world of supernatural people punching each other, but were turned away...until Earth was threatened and powerful heroes were put out of action by a terrible monster. Taylor was used in an experimental spell that gave him fire powers, and he's been a vital member of the team ever since.
Relationships: Taylor and Clarisse MacLeod have been friends since the fifth grade. She views him as an older brother, although some people mistake them for a couple. He is on good terms with mostly everyone in his high school, and many of the girls on the cheerleading team trust him to help with their makeup. He is also a closet nerd who can hold his own on the internet, as long as you don't use too many big words. His relationship with his family is unknown, he rarely talks about them.
